This was my classroom.
I spent a decade working in global finance, in environments where clear communication affects how ideas are received and decisions are made. Across teams and offices, I saw capable people struggle to express their thinking clearly in English during meetings and discussions. FluentRx grew out of that experience.
NYMEX Trading Floor, 2014. I learned very quickly that clear, decisive communication gets results. Now, I help my clients do the same.
Why I left finance.
My path started at Columbia University and led to trading floors in New York, London, and Hong Kong.
Across offices and teams, I noticed the same issue. People were technically strong and experienced, but their spoken English made their ideas sound less clear or less certain in meetings. The issue wasn’t expertise—it was how that expertise came across in conversation.
I left finance to focus on that gap. I moved to Shanghai and began developing a structured way to work on spoken communication for real work situations, including explaining ideas, handling questions, and speaking in higher-stakes conversations.
Why I expanded the team.
As FluentRx grew, it became clear that helping people communicate at work requires more than one perspective. Different work situations call for different strengths, and that’s best supported by a small, carefully chosen team.
Relevant professional context
Instructors at FluentRx are selected for their ability to work with real workplace communication. Each instructor brings experience that helps them understand how ideas are discussed, challenged, and clarified in professional settings.
Deliberate team size
FluentRx works with a small team by design. This allows for consistency in how sessions are run, how feedback is given, and how clients are supported over time.
Personally selected instructors
Every instructor is chosen directly and works closely within the FluentRx structure. I remain involved in how instructors are brought on and how the overall approach is maintained across sessions.
What this means for you
When you work with FluentRx, you’re not matched randomly. You work with an instructor who understands the kind of communication your work requires and who operates within a clear, consistent framework.
Hand-picked by the founder.
The instructors at FluentRx are people I have worked with directly over time. They were selected based on how they teach, how they communicate, and how they work with people in real professional situations.
I stay involved in how the team operates and how sessions are run, so the approach remains consistent across instructors.
